Because the fish haven’t forgotten.

Before standardized supply and modern production, there was simply the river—and the minnows it provided. These are the same minnows our grandfathers relied on, back when fishing was simpler and results spoke for themselves – wild, seasonal and proven.

Our Heritage Minnows collection brings that tradition forward with wild-harvested baitfish like redtail chubs, assorted dace, mudminnows, and spottail shiners. Think of them as the heirloom varieties of the bait world—naturally colorful, remarkably tough on the hook, and recognized by gamefish on instinct.

Like wild-caught seafood or foraged ingredients, availability follows nature. Conditions have to be right. Timing matters. That means limited supply—but also unmatched authenticity.

As the industry moved toward uniform, farm-raised consistency—rightly so—some of these time-proven species were pushed aside. But responsibly harvested wild minnows remain highly effective and deeply rooted in the sport. Today, with all the advantages of modern fishing technology, returning to these original baits can still deliver exceptional results.

In today’s world of forward-facing sonar and precision fishing, going back to what always worked can still outproduce. Our Heritage Minnows are handled with modern fresh-chain logistics—delivering a boutique, small-batch product rooted in the “good old days”—and still earning their place on the line today.
