Our Central Wisconsin home is good to us.
It provides us abundant fresh water of the highest quality. (In fact, our hometown of Stevens Point is known as “the city of wonderful water.”) Natural ponds abound, which makes this area idea for raising minnows. In addition, the lakes and rivers of Wisconsin provide a renewable resource for naturally sourced baitfish.
But all of these resources have to be managed. If we harvest too many wild baitfish, that disrupts the foodchain. If we use too much water, or use it improperly, the environmental balance is thrown off.
Creating and perpetuating a responsible business is always at the forefront of our thoughts and actions. It may not always be top-of-mind for you when choosing a live-bait supplier, but it matters to anyone who values fishable streams and lakes.
And it also ties into the second way we look at responsibility.
